Anyone on here have an ls swapped 350z? Looking for some opinions, don't really know enough to do it myself. Would it still be worth considering?

Been done plenty of times in the States, stock an LS1 make a little bit more power than a VQ35 and roughly the same as a VQ37 but ~100Nm more torque.

You've obviously done your reading, and yes the first LS swap was about 12-13 years ago now. Probably less of a headache to SC or T or TT the VQ.
Are you talking the VQ35DE or HR?

Dodson's in Auckland have done quite a few. First one was SC'd VQ35de back in 2003, yes, not a typo! And another couple of member have T'd or TT'd.

Understanable. Or you could change the exhaust to give a different exhaust note. Nismo or a Borla, not cheap but do give a nice exhaust note.

An LS swap is the cheapest bang for your buck you will ever get with a 350Z. There are quite a few companies in the US that provide a complete kit for this which keeps all the electrics working perfectly as well. Not to mention that the LS is a lot smaller physically than the V6 Nissan.
I also think the weight is virtually identical. Just start searching the interballs.

I disagree, in the US maybe but here I think you could build a faster VQ car than an LS car for the same money, though this is irrelevant if the guy is just wanting the sound of a V8. The LS isn't much smaller than a VQ, it's shorter but it's also longer.

The LOJ conversion kits seem to be the most popular. This is very rough pricing and depends on how handy you are at doing stuff yourself.

If the car is already manual and he retains the Nissan manual gearbox the kit is ~$6500 landed, plus $2500 for an LS1, plus $2000 for misc stuff, call it $11k, and that will get you 320rwhp.

If you get a T56 swap kit which doesn't include a driveshaft is ~$3100 landed, plus $5000 for an LS1 & T56, $1000 for a driveshaft, plus $2000 for other misc stuff works out about the same ~$11k.

To turbo one, $2000 for a plugin Link, $500 to wire it, $1200 for a tune, $800 for VR38 injectors and fuel pump, $3000 for a turbo, $500 for an intercooler and piping, $1000 for exhaust manifolds, $2000 for misc, works out again at around $11k, based on similar builds this would make between 400 and 450rwhp.

Yeah I'm thinking of getting a new intake manifold to replace the plenum. Tcm engineering on trademe has some good stuff, I have a custom straight pipe off the engine and I'm pretty happy with the exhaust note. Maybe I will just turbo it? Apparently it has a link g4 but yet to confirm
