There is still accommodation available at Ascot Motel Taupo, our usual home away from home when in Taupo for Track Day. When you phone don't forget to say you're ZClub as we've pencil booked the whole place out at this stage. You still pay the Ascot directly.

With some of the bigger rooms, you may like to get a group together to keep your costs down.

The Ascot confirmed they're providing providing BBQ facilities for us both nights (Friday & Saturday nights) again this year, so you just need to bring along, steak, sausages, etc, or whatever you like, plus your desired refreshments. Very social & very easy especially if you're staying at the Ascot or at Bellavista next door. Other Zedders attending our ZClub Taupo Track Day or Hardpark are welcome to the bbq's too.

With regards to accommodation I tried to book accommodation but was told all rooms were booked out by the Z club even though I tried to explain that I was with the Z club.
Spoke to Andy & with his advice I rang again but was told to ring back on Friday :? :? :?

Yes I had the same problem - very difficult to deal with person who took my call - told her I was with the Z Club, she then booked me in for the dates but in February then told me March was booked out - finally got through to her and got correct booking (I hope  )

Hi All

Really looking forward to next weekend, got this weekend pencilled to spend getting the car ready. A quick wash for weight reduction etc, usual stuff.

I note there is a fire extinguisher on the list this year. Does that mean I need to fit one up to the car before scuitineering?

Or is it a nice to have?

Hiya Jibber, only if you are running a schedule A car, the wording hasn't substantially changed. If your car is a road legal, WOF'd car you can leave the extinguisher out. The list at the end relates generally to dedicated competition cars. The club has a large extinguisher at all marshall points and we can make a mess of any part of your vehicle in a couple of seconds if called on to do so.
If a road car you should be checking your car for secure battery, no fuel or oil leaks, secure fuel lines, a warrant (and be of warrant standard), nothing loose in the cabin or luggage compartments. A helmet and race suit or cotton overalls, closed shoes are the personal items you need. Other non safety items include courtesy, ambition, bravery, camaraderie, a smile and better brake pads than they supplied with the car when new.

Entries are still arriving even with the $120 entry fee now, it will be a good weekend.

Don't forget to check those throttle linkages as well. Can be a real pain if they snap Andy.

I've solved that problem I have gone fly by wire added 2 doors, a long roof and put a Subaru badge on it.

Not too late to register guys and girls. Even at the late entry fee, it's still a cheap track day, as you get lunch too. :) See the first page.
