Help required for 240z Rear wheel Bearing assembly

Post by Zhead » Mon Jan 16, 2017 1:06 pm

I am about to assemble my rear hubs, unfortunately the photos taken when dismantling have been corrupted.
Can someone please advise where the copper washer should be located as I cant find any reference to it anywhere.

Throw the washer away, Nissan stopped fitting them as they flattened out allowing the nut to loosen.

Geeze Ricky, I thought you told me to keep the washer and throw the nut away.

Oh well back to the shed.

Karl I thought the loose nut was behind the wheel.

To answer the original post question Ricky is right - bin the stock 240z nut and get yourself a 280zx nut here the partnumber 43262-W1200
During re-assembly, I like to use the '82-'83 280ZX stub axle nut
(Nissan part number 43262-W1200). This is a true "lock nut" type,
so you do not have to flatten or "stake" it's sides. This will make
(dare I say it!) future disassembly easier.

Thanks for that, I gave them to the mechanic to throw out the window.
