280Z then 280ZX
i don't like the look of the 350z

I Currently Don't own a Zed
Any ?S30 body style aka 200z (Fairlady Z), 240z, 260z, US Spec 280z (with out the US bumpers, like wise for the US spec 260z). Note S30 not G?S30 ie no 2+2, then 350z, then 280zx 2 seater. Note that all are 2 seater only way to have a sport car IMHO.....not wanting to start a fight, I just personal like the 2 seater models only. Shame we don't have any KPGC10 (GT-R) or even a GT-X = KGC10) Skylines here in NZ, I would one have one of those if I needed a back seat

I'm proud to be the owner of my 2 seater 240z. Nothing sweeter in my book. Yes, I concur, I am biased! However, I was lucky enough to be driven in a Fairlady 240ZG yesterday and it was well....something special. Still a 240z, still a 2 seater.
ZX's aren't my cuppa but none the less are an excellent evolution of the S30 range. I should also mention that I have never been in a 280ZX, either 300ZX or a 350Z so I reserve the right to change my opinion a little.

Well in the interests of Z harmony I will say any Z is a good one - especially if you don't have one, or don't have enough.
I am a fan of the 240z and the 240zg is something unique and desirable.
Still - the best Z is the one you don't have yet........

Gotta be the 240Z - looks great, goes well when tuned by someone who knows what they are doing. Z32 is a close 2nd for me, as you can just extract so much grunt from them, but then lets see how the 350Z evolves and whether a VQ35DETT is made for the new Skyline GTR ...
AKA ZFETSH

I love the look and the idea of the original Zed 240 with only two seats well done Nissan!
However I own a Z32 2 seater manual turbo (thats the hard top version) And I have to say its an awesome car - not perfect but fast enough for any sane person and has the handling to cope with the power (most of the time)
At the risk of being shot I rekin a 240z with an RB25 turbo engine would be a real sweety - but I think Ill just stick with what Ive got
check out out some of the rides on the NZ 300zx owners club site A couple of nice ones there.

Not at all MungyZ, your onto a good thing when saying that a RB series in a 240z would be a good idea. It has been done many times and is a very good mod. They certainly shift a bit more than the old stock L24.
This is a pic of a zed that needs a RB26 transplant. It currently has a L24 bored to 2.8 in there on SU's. A lot of work has gone into this.

Sulio's car from Melbourne, Australia - a nice car (one day on one of my many business trips to Melbourne I must see this car in the flesh) James have you seen is other one? It is for sale now (I guess so he has the $$ to install that RB26 you are talking about ) Here is pic of the car for sale - sorry correction it has been sold he was only asking $8K AUD it is a 73 240z
Re the RB engine - yes a great engine but I have heard that in NA form you can't get a lot out of them (might mean big $$ to do) so the only real way to get performance from one is to put a snail on the side (which currently is not my cuppa tea I like the old school NA way - might have something to do with the fact I have never owned a turbo, been in a few including 2 that blew up at the time, maybe that is why I am not keen on them)
Anyway a personal thing but Zed should always have a inline 6 not a V6 (sorry to all the 300zx + owners out there) as that is how they started like wise for the Skyline's. Not looking forward to what Nissan/Renault will do with the next GTR as it will have a V6
