These things.. It's more of a diary

Post by chrismx5 » Wed Sep 03, 2014 10:44 am

As the title states, I'm not going all out for a build or anything, I'm just going to kind of keep diary notes here of what I've been up to.

I have a Miata, that I race, and here are some, before, during, after, during pics :)

Still have a bit of work to do, lowering the seat, installing 50 odd bushings, installing/purchasing some new springs for my bilsteins.

Eventually it will get there, and eventually it will be bad ass.

I hope.

Nice. I had a 2001 MX-5 once. Soooo much fun to drive (albeit a little underpowered). Copped a lot of flak for that car until I used to show them how sideways it could get.

Soooo jealous of your garage. I can barely fit my 370Z in my piddly little single garage :| I recently replaced the garage door as I got sick of retracting the side mirrors every time I used to back in or take it out (was a 100 year old tilt-a-matic and the arms used to stick out a mile - now it's a roller door which gives me loads more clearance - if only I had more room to get out of the car...I have to almost break my back to exit the vehicle once it is in there!)

By the way, is that a 986 Boxster parked next to it?

The mx5 JUST fits in there next to the (yes) 986 boxster, that's my old mans fun car :) Removed power steering, and aircon with the car on the ground inches away from the boxster! Very frightening.

@bronzee, defs looking forward to it! The 350 is a hell of a lot faster than the mx5, but the mx5 is allowed to take a beating, whereas the 350 is looked after ;)

My son has an MX5 with a supercharger kit fitted. It's a very exciting car to drive.

I love driving the 350z way too much!

Next week it is service time :)

However, I have finished my intake designs, just waiting on some money to become available so I can fit, and test them effectively.
I have also been looking into the Z1 Plenum mod, which is looking very very likely at this stage!

The car will be going onto the dyno in the next few weeks to get some base figures, then again, once I have the intakes installed, then again once the plenum is installed.

Hoping to see around 250hp at the wheels once those two mods have been done.

Also replaced the factory "bose" Yeah.. One speaker was Bose, the second was a 32ohm Clarison or something. I now have some nice Sony Xplod speakers that were stripped from the Miata.

If all goes well this thread should be full of dyno, and drag results.

Will have stock dyno, stock drag, air intake dyno, air intake drag, air intake + plenum dyno etc.

Cheers!

You have an HR too, correct?

Well if my dynos with my intakes go well I will be offering them up as a kit, and at a much much better price than the other alternatives,

Of course, this is all granted my dynos go well!

So after deciding I need to actually do something, I have got my first dyno run booked in for two weeks time.

Nothing will be done. This will be a complete Base figure for me to work off, from Torque, horsepower and killerwasps if that's what you're into.
Hoping to see a figure around 260whp

Yow.

Need some control arms. Anyone got any? For the 350z.

Long story short, hit a curb. No I was not trying to do anything stupid, it was the quickest thing to do to avoid an accident.

Also - mx5 has 2 inch wider guards :D
