The theme for 2015 has been announced.

Please note, as we only have space for a very small number of Zeds at our stand, Zeds are pre-selected for the show. Often at Galaxy of Cars the previous weekend, so make sure your Zed is in extra tip top, super shiny, not a spec of dust or muck anywhere, think white detailers glove checking for muck and you may be asked to display your Zed at Concours d' Elegance.

Organisers of the country’s largest classic car event at Ellerslie next February are searching for clubs catering for other kinds of classic vehicles.

Classic trucks, buses, motorbikes, fire appliances or other enthusiast clubs are offered a one-off free display site at the NZ Classic Car Show on February 8. The offer is also open to private collectors.

If you know of anyone that might be interested, please pm, phone, email Bronzee for more details.

HOTTEST CARS, BIGGEST SHOW AT ELLERSLIE

If you haven'tvisited the Ellerslie Intermarq2ue Cocnours & Classic Car Show in recent years, on February 8th you'll notice a few changes.

An accommodation and hospitalaity development is swallowing up about a third of what have traditionally been club and motorkhana sites - and a new landscaped area and other sites are now being used for displays.

You'll need a allow more time to get around as the show continues to grow! Organisers of the 2015 event on February 8th expect an epic 800 classic and new high performance and prestige cars.

The show has become one of the southern hemisphere's biggest annual motoring events featuring more drool-worthy and priceless heavy metal than at any other event in this part of the world.

It's a showcase of some of the best, if not most valuable restorations in the world competing in our equivalent of USA's renowned "Pebble Beach" competition - the Classic Car Magazine Intermarque Concours d'Elegance Awards.

Among the painstaking restorations will be a rare 1956 multi-million dollar Mercedes Benz aluminium-bodied Gullwing - number 27 of only 29 in the world.

Team entries - the winning club of which hosts the following year's event - will includ MG, BMW, Porsche and this year's host, the Auckland Mustang Owners' Club.

Car's roles in movies and TV shows over the years are the theme for the Classic Cover Insurance Best Club display Award.

RadioLIVE's recently introduced "Best Survivor" Award shows the best unrestored "every day" classics - this year including Aston Martin, MG, and Worsley.

An event co-sponsor car care leaders Meguiar's and Smits Group have special offers on the day.

Classics aside, expect to see the latest from Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Audi, Bently, BMW, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jaguar, Jeep, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Lotus, Maserati, Mini, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Volkswagen and Volvo. RV Super Centre is exhibiting for the first time with 6 futuristic recreational vehicles.

There's also a new Maserati hospitality area where you can muse over your options.

And if all this sounds good - so will the music from The Sound 93.8FM.

Other exhibitors will offer books, motorsport accessories, wheel refurbishing, rally tours, tracking and recovery technology, dashboard cameras, clothing, car bumpers, garage/showroom flooring and paint protection technology, insurance cover .......... and of course the Meguiar's car care products.

It does yes, as we only have space for a very small number of cars on our club display, so we choose the best available of each model. 8)

Yes just picked up the magazine yesterday and was reading the article on this event. Nice Green 240Z and an orange Z in the background. Is the map that is advertised on this post exactly the same this year?

Only reason I ask is that in the article in mag it says that a couple of new sites are being exihibited for the first time and the motokhana is no longer going to be there?
Good things are worth waiting for, but great things happen at once.

I'm still waiting on the map from Concours, so sorry I'm not able to tell you if we're in the same spot as last year or not yet. Will post as soon as I have the map.

Some of the Ellerslie site has been sold for development, so things are being re-jigged around a bit. No motorkhana now from my understanding at the last Concours AGM meeting with all of the other clubs.

Oh, that's Big Sam's 260z and Bernjean's 260z in the mag.

What time does the event start 10am? If so what would be the best time to arrive for the general public and what would the best entry for parking be?

Regards
Deano.

10am - 4pm for spectators. Main Entry off Greenlane Road. Traffic is bound to be heavy, so I'd recommend earlier, unless you want to see prize giving, but you can always hang around with the Z crew once you get here. 8)
