Canterbury Cruise - Arthur's Pass
We had a great cruise today. Heavy rain in Christchurch but cleared to sunshine and blue skies well before we got to Springfield, and stayed that way through to Arthur's Pass.
What a surprise to see a 260Z pull out right in front of the convoy at Sheffield and stop at the Drovers Cafe. Great to meet you Mick.
Nice winding run through the beech forests from the Waimak bridge the through to the Pass. After lunch carried on a little further towards the West Coast to the lookout overlooking the Otira viaduct where it felt like winter and a few cheeky Keas were looking for opportunities to chew things!
As a passenger on the way back I got to enjoy the stunning alpine scenery.
Thanks for organising this Chris. Will post some pics soon.

Thanks to all that came along yesterday - a great cruise with a great bunch of people! Special welcomes to Rob, Gwenda and Mick - hope to see you all on the next one.
Got home in time to be hit by a tornado and hail storm! We're OK, but the neighbour has lost some of his roof, a whole shed and the dog kennel! It was very scary. Another mess to clean up...
BRONZEE - could I get an account number for our St. John donation?
Thanks,
Chris

sounds like i missed out yet again
is there a chance we could organise a meet and greet in Christchurch somewhere in the near future?
there seems to be a few numbers popping up and it would be great to actualy meet more Z minded people.
Unless the next trip is allready underway ???

Well done guys! was thinking of you.
Next time.
Next time.
Thanks for the pictures Andy.
A very nice part of our country. Is that the lookout over the sweeping viaduct? We stopped a few years back and a couple of Kea tried to rip the tread off our tyres.

Retirement is great. Growing old sucks.

Yes we looked down on the viaduct. There were also Keas there being very nosey, with beaks resembling lethal weapons! Lovely birds with great colours on their wings.us2 wrote:Thanks for the pictures Andy.

Always keen on meets, but usually we shy away from meets that are just for one model, good to be all inclusive.bernjean wrote:Nice to see the 350s lined up, must try and do a 350 event in Auckland anyone keen.
