This event is now fast approaching, car prep for us is not complete but under control, new service vehicle still needs fitting out nothing that a trailer load of ply offcuts, a skily, a box of screws and a big hammer won't fix.
Would be good to meet some of the Z Club faithful on the mainland so if we are nearby come and say hi and help us cutting racetape and fitting cable ties
It is going to be an epic event, we are road tripping it and will be away for 10 days in all. The South Island roads are yodelling a welcome and we have prepped the black beauty to answer at the top of its voice.
Foray Motorsport is supporting Barry Faux, the outright winner of this years Targa Tasmania Classic as he brings his Mazda RX7 over to the "West Island" to play, we are very close in speed and because his car is turbo'd it must run in modern in NZ. However as we are servicing him we will be running through stages close in the seeding order.
There are a number of Zeds in the field, I'll leave it to them to outline their campaigns, but if you get a chance to pop out and sit at a spectator point or visit a service it would be great to see you.

Thanks Pest, yes parked up In Hobson for BuildLink after returning from a quick visit to Soichi to put my mind at rest over some engine issues, he gave it a whisper and a tickle and its running like a dream.Pest wrote:Saw your car on the trailer parked at the top of Hobson St the other day, looking ready for action

SAMURI is back from getting a few minor mods and after a few hours work tomorrow should be all ready to go (I think). Hopefully we now have some better brakes and rear shocks and also managed to find another 10kw at the wheels so now I can really scare myself! I have a mate coming down to Christchurch on Tuesday and his empty car trailer now has a passenger so we don't even have to drive down any more. Hopefully we won't need any spare parts but if we do, we will be posting on the forum.
The Tour cars do not need to stay in the Parc Ferme at night so if anyone wants to say hello then try to catch us when you see us as often at the end of the day we will head off to our motels or one of the social events that have been planned.
Really looking forward to the lovely South Island roads and scenery plus hopefully meeting a few of you.

Help needed if anyone in Christchurch reads this. We completed one stage and now have an engine problem. Need access to a workshop and engine crane if anyone can help.

Have sorted the workshop and engine hoist but may need engine parts or even a spare engine once we work out what the real problem is.
Good luck getting Samuri sorted!old_datto_fan wrote:Have sorted the workshop and engine hoist but may need engine parts or even a spare engine once we work out what the real problem is.

Thanks gman. Have just got car to Kennelly Cams who is in to Nissans so hopefully we can fathom out what is making the lovely tapping noise we now have.
