HT leads and spark plug.

Post by B101 » Tue Apr 16, 2013 2:03 pm

what is the best method of checking HT leads?? it hasnt had new HT leads since the motor was fully rebuilt, there probably isnt anything wrong with them but its worth checking i guess.

also if i need new leads is there any brand or specs anyone could suggest to me along with spark plugs. At the moment its got bosch super 4pin spark plugs that starting to get a little pitted and the end of 2 of the 4 pins on most plugs.

engine has had a few things done to it so might need something a little heavier than standard leads and plugs. . . .

- pertronix electric ignition
- high performance coil
- bigger SU carb needles
- high compression engine

Standard NGK plugs are fine, it looks like BP6ES are the recommended plugs for a 240Z, I probably wouldn't go any colder. Most of the aftermarket leads should also be fine, I like Eagle ones myself which you can get from Repco or Appco.
