Christhurch Gathering?

Post by kirihi » Sun Sep 30, 2012 8:50 am

Hello to All Canterbury Z Club Members/Forum Members!

There have been a few rumblings about Chch Z owners getting together for a while and I have a plan; a plan so cunning you could pin a tail on it...

What I'm suggesting is meeting at the Air Force Museum (my workplace) on a Sunday morning and then a cruise over to Akaroa for lunch/coffee. The Air Force Museum has heaps of sealed parking for gathering (it's becoming quite a popular place for car clubs to meet) and, of course, the drive to Akaroa is always a goodie.

If people are interested I could arrange a 'Behind the Scenes' tour through our restoration and storage hangars before we go; check out 3 restoration projects, 11 additional aircraft and heaps of big engines, etc. Cost would probably be $10 per person for the tour (great way to support the museum).

So, firstly I need an indication of how many people are interested in the event and whether you're keen on the Behind the Scenes Tour of the museum, or just a cruise to Akaroa. If there's enough interest we'll pick a date and I'll ask the club to post it as an official event.

Cheers,
Chris (kirihi)

Good work!

Count me in for both the behind the scenes tour and the Akaroa drive.

Just not on 11 November.

Sounds good to me, as long as it's not labour weekend.

I'd love to go but 6-7 hour drive each way i'm not sure if it's really worth the drive.
