Window rubbers

Post by Brock365 » Fri Aug 25, 2006 9:04 pm

I am after some rubber seals for my windows. (280ZX 2+2) The back quarter light window exterior seals are all dried up and sticking out. I have seen other 280ZXs at Z club events (Calvins I THINK...) that had these rubbers removed. Are they really needed?
Also the rubber seals on my drivers window are a bit dried and at motorway speeds, with window shut I get a whistle through them, just on drivers side.

Have you tried Nissan? I know that a lot of the 240z/260z rubbers can still be purchased from Nissan (at a cost). Also talk to Dave Turner of Z Spares in Manukau.

will try on Monday then. Any idea if the exterior quarter light trims are REALLY needed or not? From what I have seen of 280ZXs with them removed, looks to be a SLIGHT gap from paint work. Dont know if they are still water tight though. My current ones are ugly though.
