260 speedo cable

Hey there guys , I was just wondering if a 280 speedo cable will fit into a 260 box and dash? when i brought my car it had its speedo cable snapped off in the gearbox by the previous owner and im trying to find a replacement but these things dont grow on trees. Thanks for any help

If you get really stuck there'll be companies around that can make new ones, you'll need as much of your old one as possible as a sample. If it's just the inner that's gone and the casing is still good, find one of these companies and get them to make a new inner.

Just a thought.

Thanks for the tip , yes i still have both bits but one end is stuck in gearbox.

Hi Guys

I had the same problem with a broken inner cable a couple of years ago so went to picka part and went through all the old datsun rwd saloons 180bs bluebirds ect some of them are the right length. Happy hunting
