Fly Wheels

Post by Baker93 » Tue Sep 22, 2009 10:35 am

I am in the process of having a new fly wheel made for my race car( L Series Motor). They are made by Precision Engineering in Auckland and suit the 7.25 inch Tilton/Quarter Master/AP etc multi plate clutch types. Many club memebers have run these small diameter steel fly wheels for years without problems. They wiegh approx 12lb solid or 9lb slotted (reccomend the solid unit) and come nitrided and drilled for M8 bolts. Cost $420 + GST. If anyone else requires one just let me know.

Hi Antony,
Here is a picture of my flywheel for interest.
It uses a 5.5" tripple plate tilton race clutch...

Ring gear is still original Nissan unit, works with a Nissan (Bosch) gear reduction starter.
