Yep I have to agree that the trip was bloody brilliant! Cheers Andy
Yup what a team! Until Zmad gets some pics up here's some phone camera shots at Taupo stage 8, team members concentrating on start logs and Michael mastering his own starter style.

How about the snow at the Waiouru service (for those who were on service crews) was not expecting that - and I guess the competitors were not expecting snow in the stages either
My team started the stage that caught out the BMW and the 350Z, we even got on TV
No one saw it coming. 5 minutes before the sun was out. Was cold as hell, but no sign of the hail and snow till it hit.
I have over 500 photos from the week, will upload some soon.

We did the first stage of the last day around Shelley Bay, call it the starters curse but I said to Leigh Hopper that the right hand side had no soft landings and we didn't have a crane for recovery. I was right on one point only as a crane turned up around an hour after he found there was no soft landings on the right hand side. They got the sucker going again and drove across the line I believe?

Yea from what i saw on tv there was alot - that airborne Beemer was replayed alot on TV3. Saw a few shots of TARGA Z also. As for the snow on the desert road - as any Army person will tell you it can get pretty savage down there real quick even in summer , ive seen four seasons in one hour down there lol.BRONZEE wrote:Ooops. Nick Cooper made a mess of the newly repainted Charger, taking out a substantial amount of paling fence. I emailed Murray his co-driver and it seems the cage assisted in stopping him from being impaled by a piece of 4x4. I don't think the pics are for public release but the hits were hard and looks like a rebuilt will suffice. The Paddon car was also backed in hard and dropped out. Our 350Z friends from Japan were out after their roll, maybe the old car knew that the 370Z had been released?
Although not out the VK Commy that does so well in classic had lost shape and weight by the end of the event (see Zmads Pic above), the lengths folks will go to lighten their cars!
