Finally reassembling my L26 to go back in the car after a clean up and paint
Does anybody have any idea why coolant water is run thru the intake manifolds?
On the three engines I have i notice that the steel pipe between the manifolds is rusted thru, the water to them has been disconnected
Is there any point in me trying to track down some 10mm o/d pipe to replaced this rusted pipe and connect it back up again?
Manifold coolant pipe??

My L28 has an old S30 carb manifold on it, and i haven't bothered to hook up the water. I think it just helps vapourise the A/F better in cold conditions, and make it run a bit better when its cold. As for me I just warm up my Z before I take it out so its not a problem for me. Also the exhaust headers are directly below the intake manifold on the L engine, so they tend to keep it warm newayz (more so than I'd like I think )
"If it aint broken...."
Pull it apart anyway and find out how it works!
