300ZXTT vs Skyline GTR.

Im having an arguement with a friend I was hoping people here could solve. Which is faster the 300ZX 3.0L twin turbo manual, or the Skyline GTR 2.6 Twin Turbo Manual (assuming both about same year and non modified) ? Im biased towards The 300Z, yet the GTR is definately more famous (here) for its performance.

I think you will find the Skyline is the faster car I am sure it is ligther. More development went into the Skyline for racing but the 300zx was not developed for that purpose. Check out the 300zx website. www.300zx.net.nz

well it was a interesting debate but Nissan themselves said the 90 300 could out run a 90 GTR in a straight line, however from standing start the GTR had the advantage...to 150kph or so....but race to top speed the Z will win(155mph vs 143mph.

Handling well in the dry close call the Z having a better weight distrbution(53.7 to the front, compared to 58.4 to the front in the skyline) and slightly more power @ the time) could move alittle quicker with a lap around Nur 8:09 vs 8:10(90 GTR), but all went to shite as the Z got no development between 90 - 95 and a tweak 96-98 and 99 with one final model in 2000....and GTR got the pie.

So end your debate of Z vs Skyline, say this where did the Z come in Le man and where did the 96 GTR LM come?
Oh by the way the Z won it class betting the Viper, and came 5th overall, and well the 96 Skyline well didn't finsh...
