Micro/mega squirt

Has anyone installed either of these? Unsure of relay configuration and inital start values.

Hi!
Remember to use a wideband oxygen sensor to monitor air-fuel ratios and make adjustments accordingly. Regularly check and log data during initial startup to identify any issues and refine your squirt configuration for optimal performance. Having said that, here's a step-by-step guide to relay configuration:

Connect the fuel pump to a relay to ensure that it only operates when the engine is running. This prevents flooding and potential hazards.
Use a dedicated relay for the fuel pump and wire it to the Micro/MegaSquirt's output.

  • Connect the ignition system to a relay for reliable power delivery. Ensure the ignition relay is triggered by the squirt's output.

Connect the starter motor to a relay to handle the high current requirements during cranking. Wire the starter relay to the squirt to engage during the starting sequence.

Wire the cooling fan to a relay to control its operation based on engine temperature. Connect the fan relay to the squirt's output for automated cooling.
  • Cranking Pulsewidth: Adjust the cranking pulsewidth to ensure proper fuel delivery during startup. Start with a conservative value and fine-tune based on the engine's response.
Ignition Timing: Set a conservative base ignition timing for initial startup. Gradually advance the timing as you monitor engine performance and eliminate knock.
Idle Control: Configure the idle control settings to stabilize engine RPM during idling. Fine-tune the idle air control valve parameters for a smooth and stable idle.
Fuel Injector Settings: Calibrate the injector settings, including injector size and dead time. Use the manufacturer's specifications and adjust as needed for optimal fuel delivery.
Sensor Calibration: Calibrate all engine sensors, including the throttle position sensor, coolant temperature sensor, and manifold absolute pressure sensor.
Cheers!
