Dear Antipodean brethren!!
I'm a member of the UK Zclub.net and need your help please. We have a member's car imported from NZ that I'm trying to write a proof of age letter for.
I normally use the "Glasse's Guide" or Nissan Mirco Fische for proof of age by chassis numbers but on this one, Nissan were inconsistent and none of my resources show anything for the chassis number: HGS 130164856
Is anyone able to help me please? I would be most grateful.
As for me, I run a 1977 UK RHD 260z with a modified L28 at 10.5:1 comp, 270degree .48" cam, large valves and fully ported head, on Z therapy SUs and lots of yummie things around it like the Z-Story Race/Sport full exhaust, light weight flywheel etc - she's putting out c.210-220BHP a the flywheel and is an utter joy to drive.
Looking forward to any help you can give me.
All the best,
Ali
UK Calling for help!
Thanks guys.
Yes it is Niroshan's - nice guess! I need anything that looks official - i.e. Nissan Parts Catalogue micro fische (or otherwise) copy or other local market official dating books. In the UK we have a Glasses guide that shows chassis numbers against years and values at the time - but this is purely for UK cars. Is there an equivalent at your end of the world?
Typically I use something like the attached pic ...

Also, NZ Transport Agency has an open data project online:
https://opendata-nzta.opendata.arcgis.c ... 80zx%25%27
Specific chassis number information is limited and mixed though as it looks like people made mistakes when entering into the registration system at the time. But the engine number information is a lot more detailed.
Hope this may help

Surely it is Niroshan's cars because I read about these cars on the internet and they really look beautiful.
