$2,500 for a 300ZX with a stuffed fuel pump?

Post by Skiwi » Tue Dec 18, 2018 9:10 am

Trying to get an idea of if its worth it as a project car for me.

Looks a bit rough, 1991 model, 200,000km, being sold as is, no wof or rego, Auto, non turbo, standard wheels. History and other details unknown.

Cheers

Thanks, just clarifying I’m looking to buy, not sell.

The kiss of death. :D

300ZXs are currently so cheap you should be able to get a turbo that is not dereg for that price. Or at least spend a bit extra to get a going one. The parts costs for these things are shocking and getting hard to find. Without a going one you cannot tell if the engine, gearbox or brakes are stuffed and that could be many thousands for something simple. I think just a brake master cylinder was $800, and don't get me started on cam belt tensioners. Try finding a throttle cable these days.
