240Z windscreens

Post by annszcar » Sun Oct 07, 2018 8:31 pm

Our 71 240Z has an original Japanese made tinted screen, a few scratches, plus laminate started to open up slightly at a couple of edges,
Looking to replace with new screen, so far in NZ can only come up with the major NZ screen suppliers, who can supply, but also reveal they are made in China.
Anyone had these replacement screens, and what quality, and is the tint as dark as the original, or is it just the tinted upper strip.
It was pretty difficult getting this information out of the NZ suppleir.
Or, anyone have a new Jap screen stashed away they want to sell?
Thanks

I replace screens regularly because of the stone chips and cracks, the Chinese screens we buy from Windscreens Direct are fine, always with an upper tint only. The service provided by their branch in Industry Road in Auckland has always been superb, with excellent quality control and overnight service if they have to bring the screen up from Palmerston North, the last screens were under $200. Not sure if a Japanese screen is still available? Hope that helps a little? I believe Windscreens Direct are nationwide?
