R180 diffs

I was wondering if anyone out there knows if the R180 LSD diff from a WRX Impreza is the same as the R180 from the 240/260z cars? and can they be retro fitted to the 240z.?

Both similar Fuji?case design but a bit of phaffing to fit half shafts. I think some are r160? Only half baked knowledge.....

They are the same case, i have put an R180 CLSD guts into an Open housing for DJZ for one of his projects.

there is a bit of a trick to getting the carrier out of the housing but otherwise its just a normal diff build setup.

Not quite the same.

The WRX R180 has larger bolts so is stronger.

When we fitted it to the 240 R180 housing we had a machine up a spacer inside as there was a few mm difference.

We did use the 240 half shafts as we only used the crown and pinion and kept the 240 Quaife LSD that was already fitted.

So can be done and is worthwhile but not a direct bolt up.
