240z distributor upgrade.

Post by B101 » Tue May 03, 2016 7:42 am

Just wanting to know who has upgraded there 240z dizzy in favour for the 280z/280zx E12-80 dizzy.

* Is there anything else required besides the dizzy if you are allready using an aftermarket coil?
* Is the base plate necacery to mount it on an L24?

Would really appreciate some of the guys that have gone down this rout to chime in.

Cheers

I have used the 280zx E12-80 dizzy just wired it up and away I went. I think it produces a lot more bang but I can't back that up without a dyno. Some guys say the tacho does not work or the needle jumps around but mine was ok.

That sounds promising, did you need a different base plate for it?

I used the 280zx plate but that has less adjustment for timing
