Run - Auckland's Volcanic Peaks

Post by Z Club » Fri Dec 18, 2015 9:51 pm

How many of Auckland's volcanic peaks have you driven? Join us for a Sunday morning run. Starting at Mount Wellington, winding our way through Auckland, and ending in a good spot for brunch. Not such a complex run that you'll need a navigator, but it wouldn't hurt.

Sunday, 24 January
Starting at 8.30am*
Meet in Mount Wellington Domain (at the top of the mount)
Things to bring: a gold coin donation for our club charity St John.

The run plus brunch will probably be about 3 hours. Either pack yourself a picnic to enjoy at the top of the final peak or treat yourself to a cafe brunch.

*Those of you that are keen, we recommend you arrive 20 minutes early and do a quick loop of the crater before we hit the road. A great way to start a Sunday and the views are awesome!

No navigator yet but looking forward to the run.
Do we get a route to follow and in what format?

Talked to Big Sam not long ago, he's printing out route instructions to follow. Should be pretty easy. :)

What a morning out with the Zedders, heaps of fun. I think most of us got to go up at least one summit we hadn't been up before, absolutely stunning weather, not a breath of wind. Big Sam you did well organising such amazing weather.
Great to meet our newbie who joined us from the Waikato for the event.

Oh, and was that one of our Zedders that arrived just on 8.30am in a silver 350, whilst we were all taking a walk around the summit of Mt Wellington, or just coincidence??

Will post some pics when I get round to it.
