240Z 260Z S30 Floor Pans and Chassis Rails.

Post by old_datto_fan » Sat Aug 01, 2015 5:05 pm

I had an interesting visit to an S30 Fairlady being restored in Palmerston North today and the owner has made his own floorpans using what is effectively a steel template and a big press he has access to. He has also made his own chassis rails. To me they looked like a work of art and having seen some of his other projects, this guy ( a qualified panel beater with many years experience) certainly knows his stuff. Anyway, I have convinced him that he should make some more for those of you needing new floors and he is open to that - price to be confirmed. So if there is interest, please PM me your email details and I will email you some photos. Once we have some confirmed interest and enough to do a small run of these, I will get him to confirm pricing. And I need to know if for a 260Z or 240Z as there are some differences.
And I know I'm breaking the rules re pricing here but that will depend on numbers.

Depending on the year of the 260z yes the floors are very different much like the chassis rails basically all underskin is different from late 75 onwards.

But very good to know there could be a local source ;)

You are forgiven, it's not a For Sale Ad, you don't have the product yet, lets call it an expression of interest or group buy proposal.

Thanks, just waiting for some pricing calculations to make sure this is economic to mass produce.

Progressing slowly. We need to find a mint 240Z floor to get a pattern off.

Does anyone have floors etc they have bought, but not fitted yet that he could copy?

Not mine either - potentially the drivers side of my car maybe ok. Yet I don't see my car making it to Palmerston North anytime soon. Im happy to take pictures / measurements if that helps?
