Ecolight Sprint Rally (Targa Promotions)

Post by Z Club » Fri Dec 06, 2013 5:46 pm

Targa New Zealand will be hosting a one day Sprint Rally in Auckland.

Never been in a Targa event before? The Targa 2014 Sprint Rally was designed to dip your toe in the Targa water and come and trial what a Targa event is all about!

Come and experience approximately 70kms of a compact course. This gives you the chance to make changes to your set up and see what works best for your car.

Country meets city- this stage is one of a kind. Located in the Pukekohe area, not far from Auckland City, service stations are within the route of the course, and easy access to the motorway. We have selected a slice of road typical to a Targa stage, these swooping roads and tight turns bring a challenge for everyone, there are spectator points for the whole family to come and watch.

Provisional Itinerary

(Subject to council approval)

Ramarama/Pukekohe area

South Auckland

Approximately 70kms of Special Stage and 120kms of Touring.

2 stages repeated and run both ways, equalling a total of 8 stages.

4 stages for Tour entrants

Based at the Ecolight Stadium in Pukekohe.

Saturday 1st March

Documentation and Scrutineering 5pm - 7pm

Sunday 2nd March

8am- 4pm

Function 4pm-8pm

Results will be accumulated on stage times not the best run of the day. This is not counted towards the series campione.

This is approaching fast, remember its a good chance to dip your toes in the Targa culture, try the 4 stage tour to take your road car through at close to competition speed or point your caged weapon into the timed 8 stage event. Still time to enter.

From the latest NZ CLASSIC CAR, only a week to go, sure they wont mind the scan as we are only one week out from the event.

Plenty of action as all competition cars will be running through any spectator point 4 times. Would be good to have some Z Club spectator support!

Sorry regarding scan size but use ctrl - to zoom out if you're on a pc.

Seven Co-drivers including one from Sky Sport, keep an eye out for The Crowd Goes Wild. The pace notes were great, first time I had ever driven a pace noted rally, Abbie and Anthony were straight on to it. So much faster into the corners!

Watch The Crowd Goes Wild tonight on Sky and Prime for a clip or two of a budding navigator in the Zed. http://youtu.be/_yx658nnOeQ
