KM/L what kind of mileage do you get on average?
Hey, Netrover
Quite curious here do you fill up your gas with 95 or 98 and which gas station..
To get 9.2km cruising around in town is pretty good.. Ive only managed to get 8km/l maximum with gull force 10.. If I could get over 9.2km/l it would be pretty amazing since this is my daily car..
On the motorway I would get about 12-12.5km/l using cruise control

Even on the highway I've never seen over 6.8 or so km/l

I always use 98 which can only be obtained from BP in Christchurch.Fung wrote:Hey, Netrover

About 20% of my mileage would be around town. The rest is on winding hill roads which require lots of braking, cornering, and acceleration, none of which is conducive to good mileage. Or tyre wear!
I think I got around 12.5 on the very straight roads between Christchurch and Hanmer once driving conservatively. Will be doing that trip again on Thursday I think so will reset the meter.
When we do the Leader Road cruise in November Kirihi and I should reset our meters and compare results at the end.

I use 98 BP too. Doesn't make a difference from 95 in mileage from
what I've tested.
Yeah assuming that your tank is 80L you should get about
700 kms on a full tank.
That's being conservative. Subtracting 10L (guess) for the reserve part
of your tank and 10 km/l average. This is still 250-300 more km
a tank than I can squeeze out on city driving.
I reckon I could break 500 pretty easy on highway driving.

Hi, when I first bought my car in Lower Hutt I drove to Waipukurau and topped up there. I was just under the speed limit most of the way and used 9.88 lt/100 km.
I was surprised that it was not much different from my Subaru Legacy GT I expected the 350z to be worse than it was.
Cheers

On a drive from Taupo back to Auckland, I 0'd the trip and was really impressed with the car, I had to take evidence! Wasn't going tooo easy thru the twisties either!

I have a rattle coming from what sounds like the rear passenger side of the car, I just had my down pipes and Y pipe replaced with straight through aftermarket pipes, seems to have reduced the rattle significantly... (also pretty bloody aggressive on full throttle)jam350z wrote:Ok, filled up with 98, still has that rattle so will be a heatshield or some such, still driving it like I stole it, and still averaging 6km/l. Did show 8 again after tanking, but me thinks it is just a little optimistic hahahaha
Ok I'm back with another report... nearly finished that tank of 98. I've given it some more head over the last half of the tank, not really making any effort towards economy whatsoever. You know what, I'm up to 6.3km/l now. The more I thrash the damn thing, the better the mileage I get (all around town mind). Weird.
Reset trip computer on entering the motorway north of Christchurch on Saturday on the way to Waipara. Quite a lot of traffic heading away for the long weekend so quite sedate driving. Figures were 11.8 km/l averaging 86km/h to Waipara.

When I first got my car the avg was around 8.8km/l, since resetting it and doing all the factory reset / learning procedures its hovering around 9.1km/l - that's giving it a thrash / some city driving and the odd road trip mixed in there. 95 / 98 has no noticeable effect to me (costs more, that's it)
OK, on the North Canterbury cruise today, I clocked up 320km between filling the tank to the neck with 98 at BP Edgeware, and filling it to the same point at the end of the day. Based on litres refilled and the mileage, it worked out at 11.64 km per litre.

mmm I can get 610km out of a tank in my stagea which is 4wd... interesting comparison... however my "other" kind of Z arrr one gets about 650km...
A few projects on the go....
