What: The Sound MG Classic Race Meeting
When: 9 / 10 November 2013


Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th November 2013, Manfeild Circuit
Greetings to all past and intending new participants in the 28th MG Classic Race Meeting scheduled for
Manfeild Park circuit in Feilding near Palmerston North.
Along with the usual classic sports and saloon groupings based on a mix of vehicle types and speed, the
organisers have invited The Fabulous Formula 5000, the Castrol BMW Race Drivers Series (E30, Open
and 2.0 litre championship), Central Muscle Cars and Historic Racing cars. We may run an Alternate
Classic group depending on interest. The “Alternative” group is an invitation for cars that might not fit the
current Motorsport Appendix 6 description of a classic vehicle and is directed towards Schedule K type
Historic Racing Saloons – for example Group A Cars, ex Wellington Street race cars to run as they were
originally raced, hybrid cars, and vehicles that might fall outside the required age range (i.e. interesting
but otherwise too new.)
The feature race for Classic British Salons and Sports Cars will be the Sybil Lupp Memorial Invitation.
The Muscle Cars will have their own feature race over 10
laps to celebrate their 10 Anniversary.
The Mighty Formula 5000 start their season off in grand style.
They promise to put on a great show. The noise that these
cars make is hard to believe.
The classic sports and saloon grids will be defined as close as possible with Appendix 6 of the
Motorsport Manual Appendix 6, Schedule T&C. Vehicles entered under Schedule T&C will be asked to
present current Certificates of Description at documentation. The other groups, including the
“Alternative” group, will run according to their own specific rules and regulations.
NOTE: FREE ENTRY TO ALL LADY DRIVERS and all MG CARS ENTERED.
There will also be draws where you can win your entry back as well.
A special anniversary dinner being organised by Terry Rush and Manfeild Park
Trust to celebrate 40 years of Manfeild will be held in the Stadium. A great
evening is promised with speakers from all over the country and overseas.
