Post by Fung » Tue May 14, 2013 8:46 pm

Hi all,

Just bought a 350z(nz new) last november- thinking of changing the head unit but is it possible to keep the bose subwoofer running?

Thanks
Matt

Bose is reknown for incongruity with standard speakers...

However I have inspected a few 2006 350z with Bose speakers and subwoofer and differing branded head units which work fine.
The install likly just requires a harness adapter.
Also be sure to confirm that your new/aftermarket head unit has pre outs (as required for the front, rear, and sub pre out)

What type of Bose system do you have? (ie standard or grand touring)
I know someone whom may buy just the headunit if you wanted to sell it.

Welcome to the forum Matt. Pop a post up in the Welcome's and tell us about your 350. Or even better come along to the Leigh Saw Mill event on the 26th. 8)

Hi Matt,

I'd recommend just swinging past a shop like Rapid Radio in town with the car and asking them. If you speak to someone like Pat there, they'll be able to tell you straight away.

If it's an older model 350 both the NZ track and touring model Bose are the same. Grand Touring is only a term that is used for Jap imports and American and UK model 350's, as the NZ new's we didn't have some of the options offered overseas.

You could try on the US www.my350z.com or UK www.350z-uk.com for a wiring diagram.

hi

you need a pac connector to run aftermarket head units. takes about 2 hours to fit.

got mine from Amazon USA $60 landed

ROEM-NIS2 unit is what i have fitted. Word of warning though mine seems to draw 12v straight off the battery even though its got an ignition wire. 48 hours and the battery is dead

cheers

James

I have the full 350z service manual in PDF format.
Flick me a PM with your email address and I'll pass on the audio/wiring section if wanted.
