Nissan 300zx Z32 2+0

Post by Initial Z » Thu Nov 29, 2012 10:43 pm

Been a while since my last post,
Great to finaly see a build thread, heres some of the pics from my Z32 build,
will upload more when i have the time. its almost ready to turn the key,
hopefuly be able to take it to Kiwinats at ruapuna next month. Cheers.

This is the first pic i took when the N/A came out

Image

This is what the engine bay looked like... years of crap build up lol

Image

Scored a twin turbo item to drop in, with less then 100,000kms on the clock. Very crisp out of a 92 Z32

Image

Had the engine bay fully cleaned and sprayed black pearl

Image

Put the new engine in and had the flywheel machined and lightened, clutch kit was replaced by a rpm heavy duty item
by Clutch industries nz

Image

Finally got the gearbox back in and topd up with fresh fluid,
also have had a new triple core alloy radiator,
10 row oil cooler, and front mount intercooler fitted.

Still need to source a new front bumper and some wheels and it will be due for the external paint job,
Will keep everyone posted.

Took her for the first drive today after fixing a few issues.
Couldnt wipe the smile off my face if u hit me square in
The nose.
now im not running the best set of tires but when u can put
Your foot flat in 3rd while cruising and absoloutely
Smoke out the street driving straight increasing speed
At a drastic rate how could I not be happy.
This car is outstanding, I have owned a few turbo
Nissans but this one tops them all. Very happy with the
Result I have gained in very little time and sticking
To a very tight budget.
Would recomend the z32 to every nissan enthusiast.
If you havent driven a turbo one. YOU MUST.

I'd put my hand up for a spin in the pilots seat of a twin turbo :D only driven the NA Z32 so far. Even the NA can squeal the tyres on launch, but burning smoke from a 100Km/hr rolling start would be a fun experience.

Yep, my blue Z32 was 250rwkw, and that would do great standing burnouts, but my silver one at 290rwkw could do them while rolling above 50 ... needed a bit of care and respect when you put the foot down in the low gears!

Had a similar experience when I smashed out my catalylic converter and unbolted rear muffler on an 89 Subaru Legacy GT (single turbo) then took it for a burn. What a difference, smokin tyres when foot flat on floor at 50kmh. Fun!!!
All Nissans are racecars.

I remember a '34 Ford V8 Coupe i used to own as a kid of 16. Tried to spin the wheels on seal in that old sucker. No way.
I think they were supposed to be around 90 hp.
Wish i still had that old car though.

Saw a recnd. flathead Ford V8 ENGINE on TM for 10 grand recently.

Retirement is great. Growing old sucks.
