Opinon on turbo choices for twin turbo L28

Post by rb30det_280zx » Fri Dec 14, 2012 9:44 pm

Going to be replacing the turbos on a l28 I bought, they aren't the same size.

I'm not sure what compression ratio the engine is.

Going to be aiming for around 400hp, so was thinking something like 2x rb20det turbos but the issue with them is that they have ceramic wheels and will want to run more than 14-16psi. Or possibly 2 chinese "t3/34s" turbos, and before anyone flames, i'd get them balanced and checked out before even thinking about using them. Have had a good run with a couple of chinese turbos in the past

Does anyone have any suggestions on other turbos I can use? Have to be T3, Lag isn't too much of a issue, as long as it starts spooling around 3200-3500rpm.

Have you considered converting to a single turbo setup? It would simplify things alot and look better.
Also, if you run a slightly bigger turbo, you could run less boost but get the same power with a lower intake air temperature - colder air = reliable power
AKA ZFETSH
Now armed with a Z32 2+0 NA

It is on the cards, will most likely be the option i'll go with. Would use a gt35 or t04z t4
