Leadfoot Update
Update 1: Congratulations goes out to Rhys Millen, Rod's son, who is the new world record holder for the overall record at the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. He will be racing at the Leadfoot Festival…I wonder what he will be bringing to race?!?!

Update 2: Rod and Shelly hung out with Billy Gibbons, Lead singer of ZZ Top. He has confirmed he will again join in the festivities at the Leadfoot Festival but this time will bring a ride. Billy has one of the most incredible hot rod collections worldwide.

Update 3: Rod Millen is extremely excited about one of today’s entries: 1969 Ford Boss 302 Mustang - The Sidchrome Mustang was built by Murray Bunn in Auckland for Jim Richards to contest the BNSW series in 1971. Jim won the NZ saloon series in 1974 then shipped it to Australia to compete in the $100,000.00 Marlborough series. Check out all the confirmed 2013 drivers and race vehicles by clicking here!

Chris Amon
Amon won eight non-championship Grand Prix: Silverstone International Trophy, 1000 km Monza, Daytona 24 Hours, Tasman Series and, perhaps most significant of all, the famous 24 Heures du Mans (alongside Bruce McLaren). Many of these races attracted some of Amon's otherwise more successful fellow F1 drivers, all of whom he was able to beat. In Formula One, Chris Amon took part in the 1996 Grand Prix, achieving 5 poles, leading 183 laps in 7 races, reaching the podium 11 times and scoring a total of 83 Championship points. Amon holds the record for the most different makes of car raced by a Formula 1 World Championship driver, with thirteen.

Howden Ganley
Between 1960 and 1962, Ganley competed in many events throughout New Zealand driving a Lotus Eleven. In 1970, Ganley finished second in the European Formula 5000 Championship. This caught the attention of the BRM Formula One team, who signed him to a contract for 1971. He participated in 41 World Championship Formula One Grand Prix, debuting on 6 March 1971. In 1971, Ganley started off the season promisingly with fifth place at the non-championship Race of Champions. At the end of 1971, having scored two points finishes during the year, Ganley was awarded the Wolfgang von Trips Memorial Trophy for the best performance by a newcomer to Grand Prix racing.
