I have a Nissan 280ZX, original L28 engine. What are the best (and affordable) engine modifications I can do?
Owner of a Nissan 280ZX, a Toyota WiLL VS (yes its spelt with capital Ls) for the missus and a 2005 Nissan Skyline 3.5 litre manual sedan

I am no expert but port and polish with a change in cam and a good set of headers is a good place to start
72 240z plus bits
