Z Targa Tour Trial with a Twist

Post by Z Club » Mon Jul 11, 2011 4:04 pm

Date: Saturday 01 October 2011
Time: 10-15 am
What: Targa Tour Trial and end for lunch. 1-30 ish
Where: Meet at Papakura/ Drury Truckstop. 10-15 am
What to bring: partner/friends/family/co-pilot, tank of gas, pens, cell phone,I pad,if you have one, calculator,GPS if you have one, money for lunch. gold coin donation for our club charity - St Johns
LUNCH VENUE CONFIRMED. CASTAWAYS KARIOTAHI.From here you can see the curve of the earth and all the way to OZ.
Event organisers: Us2 & Bernjean.
We don't want people to become lost, so the route is well explained. (Hopefully)
There are no gravel roads to drive, so bring out that trailer queen.
This will involve country roads with little traffic, but you may encounter farm machinery so be aware.
Plenty of nice twisty roads, and plenty of straights.
The twist will be for you to do speed calculations and estimates!!!and of course a couple of questions to keep you on your toes.
This is a corner of the country where few people go.

ANYONE who would like to just meet for lunch is very welcome.
1-30 ish at CASTAWAYS. End of Kariotahi road.

Please let us know if you wish to just come for lunch.

You won't have to drive with your eyes closed.

Hi Brian and Bernie,

Keen to come but just like last time my navigator can't read so I would be keen to follow someone but not do the navigation thing.

Will be great to blow some cobwebs out of the Z.

Cheers

NOTE- THE DATE FOR THIS is SATURDAY 1st October.

PLEASE be aware you may encounter TRACTORS on these roads,
and also have consideration for other road users you might meet.

CASTAWAYS MANAGEMENT HAVE OFFERED TO CONE AN AREA FOR US TO PARK, AND SHOW OUR CARS.
Wedding there the same day so plenty of people around. LETS GIVE THEM PLENTY OF COOL ZEDS TO LOOK AT.

That was meant to be humor! Uncool cars castaway over the cliff, cool cars in the carpark.

Just changing the subject and using this link as an example. My computer displays a blank page if I click on it (never used to) and I have tried all the suggestions and now have to right click, "save target as" and download to view. Never the same result. Maybe someone else has experience with this as it drives you nuts.

Sorry but can someone explain the event? Seems like a Targa/rally type event (hence the name!)?
Is it possible to just tag along for a nice drive even without navigator?
