Genuine Nissan Parts? RRP?

Post by schift » Wed Apr 01, 2015 8:03 am

Hi all,

Does any one know if Nissan NZ have a recommended retail price (RRP) for all of their genuine parts (as they seem to do in the states)?

I've called Gazley Nissan in Wellington on a number of occasions and the markup they put on parts is ridiculous. They want $50+GST for a simple o-ring: http://www.courtesyparts.com/17342-seal ... 15_729_733& - And I need 2. So $115 for two bits of rubber.

I'd actually called up 2 weeks earlier and was quoted $40+GST, but when I laughed in their face they quickly dropped it to $30+GST.

These guys are absolute sharks. Is it worth reporting them to Nissan NZ?

I doubt they'd care, all the dealers are the same.

I needed replacement gas struts for the boot of my Primera some years ago, Nissan Newmarket quoted me over $500 for the pair. Ended up getting some from Repco for $60 each.

Luke.

I thought as much..

Is there a contact for Nissan Auckland where all these dealers get there parts from? Would much rather go with them directly.

Hi there,

any good engineering shop should have a wide and varied range of o-rings in stock.

0-rings ain't made of special rubber, but if you buy from a dealer, then you are paying their over all stock level price, because it may sit on their shelves for quite awhile.

Take in a sample so an engineer can measure it up and I'd be surprised if you have to pay more than $25 for the two you need, thats unless the 0-rings in question are rather large diameter.

Try SAECO Bearings. They have a large range and will probably charge 5$max for them if they are smallish diameter.
Never use the dealers - they are as bad as lawyers.

Nissan dealers pricing on items vary from dealer to dealer.

Go to any hydraulics shop, they should be able to sort you out or know where to go if they can't

Exactly, can't believe they're even asking this much.

I will check out some other shops as mentioned. It's such a basic thing:

if thats the o ring, it cost me $6 to get 2 pretty much exactly the same size as that.

$50 even $30 is laugh-able but people probably still pay for it
