Tension Rod Snap

Urgently need left hand side tension rod.
Mine broke this friday just gone.
My God what a bang, clunk, gave me a real fright.
Is there an ulternative to a original one in-case I can not find one.
What to do!!!!!!
All help and advise welcome.

One thread probably would have done the trick. What is your car again?

Have the stock tension rod rubber bushes been replaced with urethane? This would make the rod unable to move as designed, when the suspension does, putting undue stress on the rod.

No thay where the old original rubber. I think they just old and snapped

I think I have the originals off my car around somewhere, will have a look.

Techno Toy Tuning make adjustable versions, they would require certification I think.
