headlights died (suzuki sj 410 jeep)

Post by Rusty260 » Sun Mar 09, 2008 11:25 am

No it was'nt on my 260 that has'nt even got headlights yet!

My 1983 Suzuki 410 Jeep( I only have it for launching my boat on the beach!) Last night when I was getting the boat out of the water the headlights and tail lights died. Hard work diving home in the dark with no lights

I have checked the fuses under the dash in the only fuse box I can find and they seem fine

I noticed one of the headlights is blown

everything else is working fine indicators brake lights etc

anyone have any ideas?

I know its not a Zed car but I need to launch my boat again tonight so I can get too work

Cheers Tony

It might be like a zed or other nissans (this happened to my Navara on the a few weeks back) and all the power goes via the headlight switch and this has brunt out. I got a new swtich (well secondhand) unit for the Navara and hello both headlights working 100% perfect.

Worth a shot.

PS I found out it was the switch after using a multi-meter to check the circuits out + pulling the switch apart and noticing that the contacts (made from spring steel) were not making contact = no power = no lights.

Thanks sounds like a likely scenario, now to try and find a new switch!
