Inlet manifold crack.

Post by ZMAD » Tue Jul 15, 2008 11:14 pm

I noticed what appeared to be a crack forming under a bolt on cylinder six of my manifold. It creaks like hell when engine cooling, stops creaking if you loosen bolt.Appears to have happened due to overtorqueing of bolt. How can I repair this or shall I replace manifold. Is the 240Z manifold suitable to replace the 260Z one? Engine seems to backfire out carbs alot, never used to.

Thanks guys.

Hmmm,

Perhaps take it off and check for condition and whether it can be repaired. In general the manifolds can be swapped across however there are a few small differences here and there which can be a pain. You might have to swap the balance tubes depending on what manifold you have.

Others (like Mike) will know more on this one.

cheers
