Wellington/Manawatu Cruise/Trial/Lunch

Post by Z Club » Thu Feb 25, 2016 11:22 pm

What: Wellington/Manawatu Cruise/Trial/Lunch
When: Sunday 22nd May
Meet times: Depart Paraparaumu Coastlands Car Park 9.30am – north east corner of car park
Costs: a Gold Coin donation to our club charity St Johns
Organiser: Old_datto_fan

Time for another Wellington/Manawatu event and we need at least 8 entries to make this worthwhile.

Starting in Paraparaumu we will meander our way to the Palmerston North area over some roads most people will not have used before and following some simple instructions with some novelty questions on the way. Great trip for all the family, even if not in your Z.

Probably lunch at Murrayfield Café on SH57 just north of Levin.

Details have changed slightly.

Now aiming to leave Coastlands at 9.00am and follow an interesting route to Feilding.
At Feilding we will be visiting Maewa Austin Mews - a collection of 70 Austin cars. Yes, I know they are not Datsun/Nissans but have had good feedback that this is an interesting collection to visit. Cost is $10 per head including morning tea.
From there, we will cruise to an as yet to be confirmed lunch stop.

With a couple of other Datsuns going to join us, we have enough people to make this a definite starter but would love more people to come along and we need definite numbers in advance for the collection visit. So please register your interest early.

Sorry people but need to postpone this due to some attendees now not able make it and the numbers now don't make it worthwhile - postponed to May 1st.

May now also just make it a cruise around the lower Horowhenua area so that people can get back to Wellington before the roads get their usual Sunday afternoon jams.

Sorry but this 1st May date clashes with me riding the www.crazyman.co.nz MTB section so I cannot attend.

Thanks for letting us know Michael, Probably going to postpone again as the organising effort not really worth it for just 5 cars.

So if anyone else is keen then register now as otherwise I will try another date next month.

This is definitely on for next Sunday 22nd with a 9.30am start.
Trial is about 60kms long and should be well finished in time for lunch.
Navigation reasonably simple but lots of questions so you will need a navigator.

Hi everyone,

just a bump to say I'm still on for this Sunday's event.

I think I have my cooling issues sorted, but this will be a true test for the girl since getting it back on the road.

I'll carry some extra water with me just in case though, lol.

As Z's and optimism usually don't work well together, hahahaha.

See you there at Coastlands.

Reminder that this event is most definitely on this Sunday, weather looks like it should be OK even if its going to be a bit cool.

I'm in !

Need to leave approx 12:30 to be back in sunny Miramar by 2pm but sounds like that will not be a problem 😊😊😊
