Hi MBlades,
- from memory it was a bit over $4K + gst for dipping. each car is a bit different, depends how many times it has to be dipped.
- Kiwi Metal Polishers (a good bunch of blokes) can under coat it if you want. My panel beater preferred to do it himself, we just had the car cavity painted by Kiwi Metal Polishers.
- How much will the body work repairs cost? I have a child for sale.... :lol: It is very hard to estimate as you don't know what you don't know when you start. I feel though my panel guy charges a fair price for the skilled work he is performing and have told the wife it's not a money making exercise.

November 2019, car was de-greased by hand (deoxodined) and epoxy primed. Then various rust hiding bits had their spot welds drilled out.

That is really good restoration work. This guy knows what he is doing. Is he able to keep working through lock down?
You will have a really good record of the work done. Just goes to show how much rust you have that you can't see. As a panel beater and starting my trade in the 70's a well remember the time we spent on rust repairs. I always said that if you take what you can see and multiply it by 3 you will have much better indicator of how much rust a car actually has.

What a fantastic rebuild journey you are on. Stay the course, don't add the bills up, ever. It will be worth it in the end.

Yes Rowan has some impressive metal working skills. Unfortunately he has had to stop work to compile with the lock down. I do have some pictures of recent work that I'll post.

Managed to find a NOS right rear guard. It hadn't been stored too well, a couple of dents to tidy up and being a US spec needed the indicator hole plugged.

Trial fitting some panels and that's it for a while. Rowan has performed some fantastic work. Hopefully the covid-19 restrictions can soon be lifted enough to allow us to get back a little closer to normal life.
I've been sandblasting and painting suspension components at home, I'll get pictures up of that too.
