Hey guys! I have a Nissan 350Z 2004 non turbo non supercharger! It's a fully NA engine and I am thinking about putting a proper cold air intake system on it (intercooler)
What are your guys thoughts has anyone done this??

Cheers 😊

A cold air intake isn't an intercooler. Get a decent air intake kit and you'll be fine but the results that they give are quite often exaggerated.

+1 an intake is in no way whatsoever an intercooler. An intercooler is only necessary with FI

the best 'cold air' intake available is the stock air box as it's sealed off from the engine bay, the facelift models have a velocity stack too which improves flow. Next best for 'cold air' is a long tube intake which routes the pod filter down inside the front bumper. Then you've got short ram intakes, these come in two diamaters, 3' and 3.5'. the 3.5' short ram intakes have proven to make the most power on a dyno but you NEED a tune to run them so that gets expensive.

Some aftermarket intakes come with cold air boxes, they do get right up there in price so it's really up to you.

As Djz stated the actual performance gains are definitely exaggerated, you get a nice induction sound though haha
