OK well that seems like its worked?

Home stretch now, things really can take longer than expected huh! Lots on as usual, the Ex SCARB is getting a tidy up body work wise, lots of cutting and tucking as one of the original spare front splitters was quite out. pleased with how its looking now - a bit less hap haszard. We are just about there.

My Red z is back on the road after being ion storage for god knows how long and my dads is also out but a bit sick - could be a head gasket

Car wont be finished quite to the standard I'd like but it will do for now as lots of other projects also sucking money and time (car trailer, Formula Holden + x2 other 240zs)

Some more progress on the Z, finishing touches now to get her track ready, its the little things that suck up the time and patience
Looks good from 40 feet though.
Back half body work tidy is next up to make a OEM hatch fit and get rid of all the bog
Hopefully on the track this summer is the wallet allows

Mega day the other week on so many levels, shakedown run with the Z. Thanks for coming for a ride dad 👊

Wasn't about setting records it was about checking learning the car and more checking. Car ran great, what a beast to drive with the quick rack, sway bars, GRIP... and those brakes!

She hates the bumps at pukekohe thats for sure but nothing we cant fix. Few issues with the motec dash not displaying revs or shift lights but not needed for the first shakedown anyway. Gearbox as expected exhibiting signs of giving up already (ha!) but wasnt prepared at the time to invest a heap of cash otherwise it would never get going.

Currently assessing gearbox options, ideally want a dog engagement 5 speed. What has everyone else used? Considering all options really from high cost through to lower cost options with the intention of upgrading at a later date.

A second hand Holinger H6 is at the top of the list but would mean repairing rear 1/4 panel, graphics/wrap and first meeting waiting until next year. Bottom of the list would be a close ratio gear set which i could put in my road car later on :D

Car looks fantastic.

The Wellington Automotive guys are client's of mine and are great to deal with. They have just sent one of their boxes to the UK for a Z owner there (bought one of my bellhousings to go with it).

Thanks for that! Progress little by little

Ive only heard good things about Wellington Automotive and their gear seems to hold up to the drifters. Kayne Barrie who has just done a diff for me recons their stuff is up there with most if not better than certain 'brands' - Nice to hear thanks again

Hi Adam

Give me a call 0274-976-951 regarding gearbox options. I may have something you may be interested in.
Either way i have personal experiences with a few of the options.

Cheers
Anthony

Slow progress on the Z of late, lots of extended travel for work has meant she has taken a back seat.

Should on track for meetings this summer with a gearbox solution sorted (thanks Anthony)

Some minor cosmetics to sort but I'm not that fussed at this point

Here is a a render of the car with a retro theme with lots of thought behind it. The car has a lot of history and while I have tried to respect that as much I can, the reality is she is a vastly different (& slower!) beast now so why not have fun with it?
