The kitset continues...

Front air dam fix stage 1 - fill in the top five vent holes, and shape top correctly...
Image

Stage 2 - will be to remove the centre main opening horizontal bit...
Image

Stage 3 is to open the light hols for brake ducting, stage 4 is to extend the bottom witha splitter... or something...

Rear wing re-shaped... much better than before! (The mould was made on a flat surface, and the hatch is not flat!)
Image

Going to cut this out so its like the modern super GT cars. :)
Will fit a mesh in behind...
These front guards differ from the original IMSA cars, as the original ones tapered directly to the door from the wheel centre, they did not have this flat edge on the back...
Image

Next big challenge is how to incorporate the windows... have some ideas just need to see what will work best...

I really think you should get rid of that bonnet, I'd be happy to take it off your hands? :)

This isn't the bonnet that you had that went skyward with that big gust?

Some update, looks the same but hopefully no more than a week left before being ready for final paint prep, as no money left, haha... .cry...

Air dam modified a bit, will add an extension/splitter to the bottom once its back on its feet so i can get the dimensions correct.

Rear wing fitted and looks good.

My rear end is as follows, with the following mods:
- a modified 280zx subframe so the inner arm attachements are adjustable to fix the camber angle. New stock bushes are being used for mounting.
- the rear arms are modified with rod ends both sides for toe adjustment as well.
- Rear springs & shocks are Koni coil overs double adjustable.
- Diff is a R200 LSD, with modified mount, and large finned cover.
- Half shafts are 'Wolf-Creek-Racing' ones from USA...
- Brakes are AP racing 330mm with 4pot calipers.

The subframe is at the powder coaters now, so as soon as i get it will post some pics.

another small update as i have been o/seas for tha last 3 weeks, this time a few parts back from the powder coaters in East Tamaki.
http://www.procoat.co.nz/
I found their prices reasonable and liked the finish...
The colour is light grey, as i wanted to stay away from the original black, just to be different...

Rear subframe & front arms,& tension rod mounts.
Image

Front cross member, with steering rack...
Image

And the inlet manifold in a 'bling' ceramic coating which is meant to help with the heat...
Image

Next big job is the header fabrication and door window frames, then i can then let the car go the next step which is PAINTING!
so not far away...

Had a big bunch of stuff gold passivated at http://www.acmeplating.co.nz/
again found there service & prices reasonable, they also cook car parts to ensure you dont get nitrogen embrittlement on any importanat parts! :)

Also check out the write up in NZPC magazine!

Assemblied the EFI today, need to set up the linkages which wont take long.
(They have a nice little video on their website...)
http://www.efihardware.com/products/200 ... ifold-50mm

I need to figure out how to connect the air inlet into the chopped inlet end of the air-box (can be seen just on the right hand side of the picture).
The reason for the chopping was to clear the bonnet, and even that got a little chop!
