Wheel identification, possible 432?
Wheel identification, possible 432?
I have some wheels that came with my 280z, I believe they are off the previous owners 240z but other than that I don't have any info on them.
They are a four spoke design just like the 432 and from what I can work out they are magnesium, I cleaned and scrapped a small piece off the back of one of the rims where it was corroded and put it to a flame to test and it burnt bright white.
Each wheel has a different number stamped into the face of it, for example RMW-9L578
I will add photo's as soon as I have clearance.
Will try adding a link for now but unsure if it will work.
Any help or pointers will be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Kelvin.

This image from Zhome seems to support that. My Datsun collector guide image of the wheels is too dark to tell.

Thank you Mike I hadn't seen that, good to see the numbers quoted in that thread line up with what is stamped on my wheels.mikec(nz) wrote:This image from Zhome seems to support that. My Datsun collector guide image of the wheels is too dark to tell.

The link to Mr.Watanabe's research of numbering of Z432 wheels appears to be dead now which is a shame as this could of shed some more light on these wheels.
I'm heading back to Japan for 3 weeks shortly so I think Ill print out a few good photo's to take into shops with me to see if they can help with identifying them
