Cheers guys and useful input.
After sitting so long the fine nylon filter was varnished closed, in fact the whole sender unit was just a block of dirt and gunk. I cleaned it all up and also all the loose stuff in the tank, but who knows what was in the lines even after flushing and blowing out.
I did replace the fuel filter, but you have talked me into replacing it again.
Anyone know if you can still get those nylon filters for the tank?
I've had her out a few times now and have had plenty of chats with people about her when parked up.
I call her "her" as she has the plate "ELIZA".
I'm thinking of taking her to Pahiatua on Sunday with a car group from Kapiti ("Retro on Wheels") to visit the Railcar Shed there in conjunction with a steam train excursion from Paekakariki. See what the weathers doing lol, hasn't been out in the rain for 18 years and I'm not going to start now.
Cheers
