The problem seems temp related so it may pay to check temp related items:

-CHTS
-Air Regulator
-Cold Start Valve
-Air Intake Temp

OASN (on a side note)

- What is the timing at?
- What is the fuel pressure?

Air flow metre..? How is that? Also electrical connections how are they....?

May pay to look at particular connections on the cold start injector as well as the air regulator connection. My uncle had some similar issues with his vehicle.

Deano.

Do what i did, Got my fuel injection upgraded by Hi Tech Automotive. Basically got rid of the old outdated fuel injection system, Shaved the intake manifold and had it coated, New good quality injectors link computer system, used the current distributor, is an electronic type. Made a huge difference in power and drive ability. No cold start, doesn't need it. Starts first pop all the time.

I agree with bernjean, I took the time to make a complete wiring loom and my L20ET engine is running from a megasquirt ECU. Best upgrade I have made with this car. I have used the existing coolant sensor and the distributor and put an air intake temp sensor in the manifold. Also all the safety features like rev limiter and over boosting protection etc etc.
Someone had to make up for all the pollutants these hybrid cars are saving these days, so i cranked up the fuel pressure and let the engine roar.
