It’s the 16th of October 2009, behind the wheel of your cherished classic sports car, accompanied by your partner on a Spring morning, a traffic free, flowing Alpine country road winds ahead and shortly…….
20 miles of closed road stage to let the car off the leash, then a spectacular jet boat ride over the Shotover rapids, and a convivial dinner to relax in the company of your fellow entrants in the Drive New Zealand Classic Track Tour.

Yesterday it was a challenging drive through Macraes Flat special stage, with 1,000 feet drops on a rollercoaster road surrounded by snow peaked Alps, to the Southernmost racing circuit in the world, Teretonga, where you honed your skills in a classic Trial against the clock mastering the challenging double apex left hander at the end of the front straight.

Tomorrow, more of the same, with a helicopter tour of Mt Cook and Franz Josef and Haast glaciers to add variety to the excitement of the road and the spectacular scenery of The MacKenzie country and Southern Alps.

If there is Motoring Heaven on Earth this is it, backed by a full support team in case of mechanical or brain fade, the chance to live out the dream by taking part in the Inaugural 2009 Drive NZ Classic Track Tour.

300 miles of closed road tour sections to give the old girl her head. Seven racetracks rewarding your skill, a relaxing Concours, and a Black Tie awards dinner to round out the unforgettable, an enthusiast’s experience of a lifetime.

For those who have whet their appetite for more, you can continue on with the Dunlop Targa, “The Ultimate Road Race,” or the Narva Tour, with the Prologue continuing Sunday 25th at the conclusion of the Drive NZ Classic Tour. With a further seven days and 550 miles of intense rally stages, 800 miles of touring throughout the North Island, Dunlop Targa has established an enviable reputation over the last 15 years as a grueling competitive event for the hardcore enthusiast.
