Article in Classic Driver magazine

Post by bernjean » Mon May 04, 2020 9:38 am

Hi Everyone
I had a call before lockdown from an automotive mag writer wanting to do an Article on ten Nissan Zeds.

You will find this featured in the Latest May addition of "NZ Classic Car". Most of the info I provided has been used and he has quoted me on quite some occasions. I hope I got the info right I if you have any differing opinions raise them here on the forum.

Thanks Bernie: President Datsun Z Club of NZ

Quite a good article Bernie although I think your estimate of prices is a bit low and that Peter Kelly's are closer to reality.

Yes, when I read it I felt the same, it's a bit hard to distinguish between expectations and reality. But it was good to get see that he got Peters comments as well.

With the prices going the way they are it's actually quite exciting. We now see owners spending good coin on restoration builds, which is necessary for the survival of the brand.

My cars rebuild was some 13 years ago and although it has stood the test of time well, I see areas where it is getting a little tired. Plenty of stone chips from use. I'm getting to the stage where I am too scared to use it unless I know I can park it safely. They are now becoming irreplaceable.

Stone chips are good!
These cars are meant to be driven, and hard at least some of the time.
I think it goes with the territory that we have to spend a few hundred $'s every year or 2 tidying up the chips.
