So sad I missed an era of racing like this. My old man had it good. When growing up he always harped on about how when he was younger and in the car scene in the late 70s, throughout the 80s and early 90s how good it was and how many different vehicles use to compete throughout the categories compared to 'these' days I never understood until he told me to look and search youtube for beut vids like these.

Good things are worth waiting for, but great things happen at once.
Yep That is real motorsport. Not like todays yawn, yawn boring fest. Right foot was traction control and no fancy computers, no cotton wool warp Nazis either. Drivers had to be skilled, not that they aren't today but is was a whole different level. The only
motorsport worth watching today is the Isle of Man TT races and Classic pre 2000 cars Group B rally, Can Am etc

Guess what! Tranzams are back this year and Historic Racing Club is introducing both Improved Performance and Historic Touring Car classifications to its arsenal.
11 or 12 Tranzams are racing at HD today and tomorrow.
Classic racing is not dead and both period correct and no rules racing are alive, well and growing.

Also of course GTRNZ categories are the modern equivalent of OSCA and Sports Sedans, albeit a little more hitech.
