Wellington - MTA 100 Year Centenary Car Show

Post by old_datto_fan » Fri Apr 28, 2017 10:07 pm

For anyone in the Wellington area who wants to see a varied mix of vehicles covering from the late 1800s to the present then you should visit the MTA Car Show on this weekend at the Wellington TSB Bank Arena on the Waterfront.

Steve and I will both have our 240Zs on display but there will also be a Prince Skyline and a Datsun 1600SSS. Plus over 100 other interesting cars from the last 100 years.

Here are a few photos. The Zeds created a lot of interest. Many people stopped to chat about the 240 - 280Zs. Either they used to have one - in NZ, Australia, South Africa, Hong Kong, USA etc or they knew someone who did and told their stories about them. The Prince A200 GT was amazing - one of only two in NZ.

Nice photos! Was the whole even under cover? Really good for the display vehicles.

Yes, whole event under cover in a car parking building. We had 3 bays for each vehicle so plenty of room for people to walk around. There were nearly 100 cars on display and they covered a wide range of ages and vehicle types. Also displays of some iconic Kiwi vehicles, a good range of new vehicles, mostly of the Electric variety. Several thousand people went through the event over the weekend.

Here are some links to a bit more about the show:

I will add some more photos later in the week.
