Good luck with the bidding.
I am an S30 owner myself so can't really advise on specific things to watch for on an S31.
Hopefully S31 owners will respond.

Re: 240z ANDO WERKS
Re the speed/revs, I'm running a 3.9 diff and 2500rpm = 100kph.with tyres 225x50x16..
When the car was stock it had the .864 5th gear with 3.54 diff and also 2500rpm = 100kph, so for me
the longer 5th in the 71C box pretty much exactly offsets the lower diff ratio in terms of 5th gear cruising .

Re: 240z ANDO WERKS
I stuck with the lever that came with the box after reading about people heating and bending them to shape
and then having them snap.
Had a little trimmed out of the front of the hole in the console. Was done really well, pretty much unnoticeable.
Only a tiny bit is required.

Re: 240z ANDO WERKS
Ditto to the above.Mine also has a short shifter kit in it so accentuates the shorter throw..
The other thing is 5th is significantly longer- .759 compared with .864.
Which throttle body kit are you using ?

Greasing steering rack
I had some difficulty with this. Late model 260.Followed the Haynes manual instructions- peel back the dust boot, unscrew the plug in the rack, replace with grease nipple, pump in grease until it emerges between the rack and the housing. The grease was squeezing out , either between the base of the n...

Re: 240z ANDO WERKS
Excellent trio of videos !You have a real knack for explaining clearly what you are doing and why. The aerial footage in the drive part was really cool. Good to see my old wheels still rolling, for now anyway! I am interested to know what spring rates those coilovers use , front and rear, and how yo...

Re: Just bought this 280ZX
Welcome back to Z ownership LD.
The body does look tidy from the shots posted.Nice to avoid that major expense.
Interesting to see somebody going back in time in Z marques.
Once you've had one you will always come back !
Being an S30 owner, I cant help you much with the tech questions.

Re: Any history on this?
Wildly overpriced.
Left hook is an immediate discount ; you only fit a dash cap when dash is cracked.
It doesn't fit into the super original category either when you look at all the non-factory bits -
eg both spoilers, fluted bonnet and inspection panels, steering wheel, gear knob.

Re: 280z value guide
Hey Ed, are you looking for an S30 (original 240/260 shape) or an S130, being the next shape and generally known as a 280ZX in these parts.?
